    The Wachauerhof in Marbach on the Danube River is the ideal starting point for your trips to the Wachau and the Strudengau. Many castles, palaces and monasteries, including Melk Abbey and the Schallaburg, can be reached in less than 30 minutes. Vienna and the foothills of the Alps are just one hour away.

By train: Coming from Vienna, take the Franz Joseph Railway. Coming from Salzburg, transfer at St. Valentin or Linz to Marbach an der Donau. The closest bigger train station is in Pöchlarn (7 km).
By plane: Vienna Airport is about 120 km away, Linz Airport 90 km.
By bike: In Ybbs-Persenbeug, cross the bridge to the north side of the Danube (last possibility to come to Marbach).
