The Hotel-Pension Binder is a family-friendly small hotel in the traditional village of Bad Mitterndorf in the Styrian Salzkammergut. Our English-run guest house is located in a quiet part of the village, a 10-minute walk from the centre, 250 metres from the ski bus to the Tauplitzalm and 400 metres from a beautiful outdoor pool. All rooms are individually decorated in a traditional Austrian style. We offer a large garden, a sunny terrace, a sauna, a games room and a trampoline, and provide free mountain bikes for guests’ use. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, the Hotel-Pension Binder is a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and skiers.

    On the ground floor you will find a bar and restaurant, where we pamper you with a traditional Austrian breakfast buffet. The restaurant is open for dinner in the evenings during the skiing season only (in summer we only offer bed and breakfast; half-board is only available in winter).
The bar is open all year in the evenings. We offer great Austrian beer on tap as well as a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
For guests on half-board, we offer a 3-course evening meal. Our cuisine is a colourful mix of traditional Austrian and European dishes, as well as exotic Asian specialities. All of our dishes are home-made.

    Bad Mitterndorf lies at an altitude of 810 metres above sea level and is one of the 2 main places to stay for skiers wishing to enjoy the Tauplitzalm ski area, with over 40 km of downhill ski pistes.
In the surrounding area there are over 200 km of beautifully prepared cross-country ski runs (free of charge).
In summer Bad Mitterndorf is an ideal destination for a hiking or cycling holiday. Located at the heart of a wide, relatively flat valley and surrounded by breathtaking scenery, there are over 120 km of signposted hiking trails to suit all levels of fitness.
Attractions in the vicinity include the World Cup ski jump at Kulm with its exhibition on the history of ski flying, boat trips on one of the many Salzkammergut lakes, the World Heritage village of Hallstatt, and the elegant and historic spa town of Bad Ischl.

By train:
The Bad Mitterndorf train station is about a 5-minute walk away. The nearest mainline station is Stainach-Irdning, about a 15-minute drive away.
Bad Mitterndorf is approx. 95 km from Salzburg and approx. 140 km from both Linz and Graz.

    Unfortunately we do not accept any credit/debit cards. Smoking is not permitted within the house. Smokers are requested to smoke outside of the building only. Ashtrays are provided on the balconies and also on the terrace.
